‘EEA citizens’ refers to citizens of EEA countries or Switzerland. The EEA countries are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
EU, EEA, Swiss and Ukrainian citizens have to demonstrate original ID or passport and the latest utility bill when signing the contract.

Other nationalities
All landlords have a legal responsibility to prevent those without lawful immigration status from accessing the private rented sector.
An individual will have the “right to rent” in EU and Cyprus provided they are present lawfully in accordance with immigration law. A landlord should not authorize an adult to occupy property as their only or main home under a residential tenancy agreement in Cyprus, if the adult is disqualified as a result of their immigration status.
Individual will have the “right to rent” provide they have valid permission to stay, including pre-settled status, in Cyprus. They will have a right to reside in Cyprus and will be able to provide documentary evidence (physical) to demonstrate this.
